We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Engineering Manager.
Basic Functions: Support Unit Engineering functions and lead branch level projects/activities.
Primary Duties:
Lead operations engineering project activities at branch level through indirect (dotted line) supervision of branch engineering resources. Manage unit engineering process team (Engineering Techs / Industrial Engineering Specialist) Direct resources as need to support branch production teams when needed. Lead standardization of processes / staffing / equipment at all ABU branches. Assist in the development and implementation of standardized operational and manufacturing processes. From design validation hand off, own process development and roll out until SOP for engineering responsibilities. Oversee development of critical process documents (Process Flow / PFMEA / Work Instructions) Oversee / Develop routings for new and existing products. Hold regular touch point meetings with branch engineering teams to support and drive unit projects and directives. Oversee Electrical Test / End of Line Scanning process changes coordinating with DEV-Ops teams to ensure changes are ready for deployment to meet production launch timelines. Design and maintain all electrical test cabling documentation. Ensure branches have all needed cabling for production and spares as needed. Understand and practice the policies and procedures for LP9000 Management System, and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). Design any needed jigs / fixtures / electrical components to support production. Assist with any CI projects to ensure the Operations team meets annual savings goal. Support key customer activities as needed to ensure expectations are exceeded. Assist in development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators. Assist with projects to correct outliers. Support unit goals and directives as assigned by upper management. Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline 5-7 years’ experience working in manufacturing environment Experience managing direct report employees. Leadership skills needed to manage and develop a team. Project management skills to keep projects, process, and engineering team on task. Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.What to Do Next
