What this job involves:
As an Assistant Engineering Manager at JLL, you'll play a pivotal role in leading our facilities management team across multiple client sites, ensuring buildings operate at peak performance while delivering exceptional client experiences. This position combines technical expertise with relationship management as you oversee MEP systems, drive energy efficiency initiatives, and implement innovative solutions that enhance building operations while reducing costs. Your leadership will directly impact both the physical environments we manage and the development of your team members, contributing significantly to JLL's reputation for excellence in facilities management. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge and leadership skills while developing creative solutions that address complex facilities challenges in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Oversee the maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems including HVAC, lighting, water supply, elevators, generators, and fire suppression systemsConduct regular inspections to proactively identify and address potential safety hazards and maintenance issues before they impact building operationsDevelop and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and special client projects, ensuring fiscal responsibility and value deliveryCollaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, and contractors on client renovation projects and system upgradesCommunicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions that enhance their workplace experienceLead, mentor, and develop your facilities management team, boosting staff satisfaction and fostering a culture of safety and service excellenceIdentify and implement energy-efficient solutions and innovative approaches to reduce consumption and operational costsRequired Qualifications:
Proven experience in facilities management or building engineering with a focus on mechanical and electrical systemsStrong technical knowledge of building systems and preventative maintenance protocolsDemonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing teams in a facilities environmentExcellent client relationship management skills with ability to understand and address diverse stakeholder needsStrong budgeting and financial management capabilities for maintenance operations and projectsProblem-solving mindset with ability to develop innovative solutions to complex facilities challengesCommitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance in building operations.Preferred Qualifications:
Technical or engineering degree or relevant certifications in facilities managementExperience implementing energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability programsKnowledge of building automation systems and smart building technologiesBackground in project management for renovation or construction projectsExperience with vendor management and service contract administrationUnderstanding of industry best practices in preventative maintenanceFamiliarity with health and safety regulations related to building managementLocation: Onsite
