The Assistant Engineer - Instrumentation will be responsible for supporting the design, installation, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation and control systems in various industrial environments. This role involves working closely with senior engineers and project teams to ensure the effective operation of measurement and control equipment. The Assistant Engineer will participate in project planning, technical documentation, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation of instrumentation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the design and development of instrumentation systems to meet project specifications.
2. Support the installation and commissioning of various instrumentation equipment in accordance with industry standards.
3. Conduct regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control devices.
4. Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate system performance and suggest improvements or modifications.
5. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including instrumentation specifications, calibration records, and maintenance logs.
6. Participate in risk assessments and safety evaluations to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
7. Provide technical support during project execution and assist in training end-users on equipment operation and maintenance.
8. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to instrumentation engineering.
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control systems, and measurement techniques.
3. Familiarity with programming languages used in instrumentation, such as PLC programming or SCADA systems.
4. Proficiency in using various tools and software for instrumentation analysis and calibration.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in instrumentation engineering.
Tools and Technologies:
1. Proficient in using calibration and testing instruments, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
2. Experience with software tools for data analysis, such as MATLAB or LabVIEW.
3. Knowledge of industrial automation systems and protocols, such as Modbus, HART, or Profibus.
4. Familiarity with CAD software for instrumentation design, such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
5. Understanding of database management systems for maintaining instrumentation data.
