The Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs are seeking an Assistant Director of Student Success and Global Readiness to coordinate scholarship administration, provide pre-professional guidance for global careers, and oversee global distinction programming for undergraduate and graduate students across the university.
The AD for Student Success and Global Readiness will work in the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Program (NRIEP) and report directly to the Director of the NRIEP, but will also sit in the Academic Affairs Committee and work closely with the Assistant Director for Student and Community Engagement (at the Global Hub) and the team of professional advisors at UCIS's academic centers, as well as with colleagues in the Global Experiences Office (GEO). Due to the nature of the work, the ADSSGR will also work closely with the Business Office, the Director of Informatics, and others in the Director's Office. Moreover, the AD for Student Success and Global Readiness will be expected to liaise with colleagues throughout the university in positions related to student success and career readiness as well as external constituents with affiliation for specific scholarships.
Primary Responsibilities:
40% - Coordinate the full annual administration of over 60 scholarships within the Nationality Rooms and Intercultural Exchange Programs (NRIEP) and Pitt Global Experiences Office (Pitt GEO) portfolios through the PittFund$Me Platform, including promotion, student outreach, application management, event planning, and award disbursement.20% - Coordinate pre-professional guidance and programming for students looking at global careers, including the long-standing International Career Toolkit Series, event planning and promotion, collaboration with colleagues in UCIS's academic centers and Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, and Student Affairs (particularly the Career Center).40% - Oversee the Global Distinction micro-credential (including a share of student advising related to the distinction), and the Digital Portfolio requirement for all students receiving UCIS certificates (including on-line resources). This involves student outreach, familiarity with the platforms used (Suitable and Digication), understanding of the credential requirements and international studies offerings at Pitt, helping students to identify opportunities that align with their individual goals and objectives, and coaching students on narrativizing their experience in alignment with PittGlobal/UCIS's student global learning outcomes.Additional Responsibilities:
Organize and run workshops, trainings, showcases, and/or one-credit courses for Pitt students in the course of a given academic year.Understand student needs and provide personalized guidance to students that is focused on identifying and applying for scholarships to advance their global learning, reflecting on the many experiences that went into that learning, and preparing them to be active and engaged global citizens in a globalized workforce.Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in student success initiatives, career preparation and pre-professional development, and/or global readiness programs.Ability to work in digital design platforms and with database (Excel) management.Collaborative self-starters who can balance multiple projects, meet deadlines, and have a service-oriented mindset with respect to students and external constituents.Leads responsibility for all academic success initiatives and implements strategic priorities for initiatives. Manages and assesses retention, persistence, and degree completion initiatives; monitors best practices, new technology, and changing needs of the student population.

• Plans, manages, and assesses retention, persistence, and degree-completion initiatives; monitors best practices, new technology, and changing needs of the student population; collaborates with academic and administrative units across the University.
• Assists in managing the budget for the unit area.
