Assistant Director of Security

As the Assistant Director of Security at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, you play an integral part in ensuring the hotel guests, associates, and hotel property are maintained in a safe and secure environment.

What will you be doing?

·        Oversee all security policies and procedures and ensure they are properly followed.

·        Reviews reports completed by security officers to ensure professional accuracy and timely submission.

·        Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.

·        Responsible for the fire extinguisher inspections.  

·        Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates as assigned by the Director of Security (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents, acts of violence)

·        Maintains surveillance activities & quarterly departmental safety training. 

·        Maintains an effective key control program.

·        Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned and managed at all times.

·        Assist with payroll, scheduling, and other administrative duties within the Security department, as assigned by the Director of Security.

·        Brief on-coming shift officer and the MOD on all security issues prior to leaving property.

·        Maintain high visibility on property.  

·        Respond to all fire and medical emergencies.

·        Build and maintain relationships with the Executive Operating Committee Members, Managers, Supervisors & Associates.

·        Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Security.

·        Assume the responsibilities of the Director of Security in their absence.

 

What do you bring to the role?

·        Prior experience in security, military, or EMS preferred. Knowledge of security and law enforcement practices is a plus.

·        Previous Experience as a Security Supervisor in a hotel environment.

·        College education preferred.

·        Knowledge of local laws and ordinances.  

·        Exceptional people skills, customer service mentality and strong writing & logical thinking abilities.

·        Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and the public.

·        Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods.

·        Flexibility to work various shifts, including overnight, weekends and holidays.

·        Must be computer literate.
