Join our leadership team. Four Seasons Resort and Residences is looking for an Assistant Director of Rooms!
The Assistant Director of Rooms is responsible for overseeing the Rooms Division (Front Desk, Guest Relations/Concierge, Housekeeping, Laundry, and KFAS.) Assistant Director of Rooms is also responsible for directing and administering staff continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Ensure adherence to the hotel's standards, policies and procedures. The Assistant Director of Rooms is professional, team-oriented, possess good work ethics, and will be extremely results driven.
What you will do
Operational Oversight
Support the Director of Rooms in managing the day-to-day operations of the Rooms Division.
Step in as Acting Director when the Director is off-property.
Reviews and monitors schedules of staff in all departments in the Rooms Division. Monitors their activities to assure that standards are being met, staff is being supported, and guest needs are being met. Routinely inspects all areas of responsibility in the Rooms Division.
Ensures clear communication and timely follow-up on guest or employee requests, special requirements, operational issues, and hotel initiatives. Promotes seamless coordination and collaboration across all departments.
Ensuring compliance with standards of operation.
Oversees the recruitment, training, and development of team members. Conducts performance evaluations, provides coaching and feedback, and administers disciplinary actions when necessary.
Leads by example with integrity, fairness, and consistency; fosters a respectful and inclusive work environment while holding team members accountable and promoting professional growth.
Respond appropriately in the event of any hotel emergency or safety situation and comply with all local codes and ordinances with a focus on guest and employee safety.
Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
Guest Experience and Quality Standards
Guest Experience & Standards – Monitor service levels and guest satisfaction scores (e.g., Forbes, LQA, Qualtrics).
Implement action plans to correct problems identifies in Operations Standards Surveys (e.g. LQA, Qualtrics, Employee Opinion Surveys & Forbes).
Implement and uphold brand standards, luxury service protocols, and cleanliness expectations.
Resolves customer complaints from all areas of the hotel, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
Assures that standards are met, guests and employees are satisfied, and problems are promptly resolved.
Business Acumen
Assures that financial goals of the division and the hotel are being met.
Closely monitoring the financial performance of all departments, in particular monitoring all Rooms expenses to ensure that they are kept in line with budget and providing solutions to improve problem areas and assisting in implementing corrective measures.
Maintains appropriate staffing levels to align with business demands, ensuring optimal service and efficiency.
Manages and oversees inventory control for the Rooms Division, ensuring accurate tracking, proper storage, and timely ordering of supplies to support seamless operations and cost efficiency.
Develop profit improvement ideas, policies and procedures and implement them with approval of the Planning Committee.
Actively participates in regular operational meetings and contributes to the development of strategic business plans.
Monitors the financial performance of all Rooms Division departments, ensuring expenses remain within budget and implementing corrective actions to address any areas of concern
What you bring
Education:
College degree preferably specializing in hotel/Admin management experience is required.
Experience:
Five to seven years of experience in luxury hotel/resort operations management positions
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Rooms Division Operations
Ability to motivate and lead a team of professionals - Elevated Leadership skills and experience in a multicultural environment
A guest experience champion with sophisticated guest relations skills
Excellent communication skills and a strong, innovative mindset
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent guest service and problem resolution skills
Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
Strong organizational skills and strong Computer Skills (Opera, HotSos, Workday, OnTrack, ADP)
Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams. Apply an ethical approach to influence the outcome of situations and serve as role model for others by demonstrating appropriate business conduct and ethical principles
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
Valid Driver’s License required and clean driving record
What we offer:
Salary: $100,000 - $110,000
