Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Medical Unit II at the New Brunswick campus.

Qualifications:

Required:

BSN requiredAt least 2-3 years leadership/charge/preceptor experience as a Registered NurseStrong communication, organizational skills, and presentation skills

Preferred:

MSN highly preferred Previous experience as a nursing director is preferredNational Board Certification

Certifications and Licenses Required:

BLS, ACLS and PALS certificationActive New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Requirements:

Night Shift, 40 hours per weekFull-TimeOn Call Leadership Coverage

Essential Functions:

Provides leadership and direction in order to fulfill the goals and objectives of the unit/organization.Effectively communicates information to staff, utilizes resources and manages staff and services.Assists the Director with the daily operations of the unit and delegated responsibilities.Will be assigned 50 percent of patient care responsibilities.Collaboratively prepares and maintains staff schedule and payroll.Effectively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and drives through-out staff accountability.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

Active, valid NJ Registered Nurse License required

BSN required

MSN preferred

Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association AHA required

ACLS required

2 years of nursing experience required

Management experience preferred
