This position reports to the Director of Operations. **WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THIS ROLE** The Assistant Director of Operations – Rooms Division is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, and Security, while providing support to Food & Beverage operations as needed. This role ensures the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and operational efficiency are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with strong financial acumen, a passion for guest service, and a collaborative approach to cross-departmental teamwork. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization. **Qualifications:** + Must possess a strong desire to anticipate and exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment. + Proven ability to manage and oversee day-to-day operations of the **Rooms Division** , including Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Security and Guest Services, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and seamless operational flow. + Minimum of 3 years of Department Heador higher role in Rooms Division, preferably in different departments. + In-depth knowledge of **quality assurance, cleanliness standards, and room inspections** to uphold luxury service benchmarks and brand expectations. + Skilled in conducting investigations and resolving **guest service complaints** effectively, with a commitment to continuous improvement and guest recovery strategies. + Financial acumen to review, analyze, and manage budgets, forecasts, labor productivity, and cost controls across Rooms-related departments to optimize efficiency and maintain alignment with financial goals. + Demonstrated ability to review and interpret **operational reports and statistics** , using data to drive decisions that enhance guest experiences and departmental performance. + Strong understanding of **PMS systems (e.g., Opera and Colleague Advantage), inventory management, room assignment protocols** , and guest profile management. + Excellent leadership capabilities to guide, mentor, and empower departmental managers and colleagues in delivering consistent and elevated service experiences. + Adept in **project management and implementation of operational initiatives** , including renovation projects, service upgrades, and procedural enhancements. + Experience in developing and enforcing **standard operating procedures (SOPs)** that align with brand standards and support operational excellence. + Proficient in **guest satisfaction and loyalty programs** , with the ability to drive continuous improvement in customer service scores and internal audits. + Ability to collaborate with Sales & Events, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Revenue teams to ensure cohesive operations and guest satisfaction across all touchpoints. + Effective communicator and relationship builder who fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence. + High energy, solution-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to make strategic decisions while managing multiple priorities. + Willingness to perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations and support all areas of the hotel as required. + Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. **Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):** + Frequent standing throughout shift + Frequent walking throughout the shift + Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting + Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps **Primary Location:** CA-BC-Vancouver **Organization:** Hyatt Regency Vancouver **Pay Basis:** Yearly **Job Level:** Full-time **Job:** Hotel Operations **Req ID:** VAN001527 Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
