Geneva General Hospital is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team on the Med/Surg Telemetry Unit.  

 

Under the direction of the CNO, the ADON will play a key leadership role in cultivating a Healing Environment by aligning personal and team performance with the values of empathy, excellence, and accountability. The ADON will be responsible for designing and managing effective systems for workflow, communication, team development, and resource optimization within the department.

We are looking for a leader who embraces change, inspires engagement, and promotes a culture of critical thinking and continuous improvement. The ADON will support and empower staff by providing clear expectations, meaningful feedback, and professional development opportunities. As a coach and mentor, the ADON will guide team members to grow while promptly addressing performance issues that do not align with organizational or professional standards.

The ADON will contribute to the strategic planning process, setting departmental goals that align with the overall Vision of Finger Lakes Health. In partnership with other leaders across the organization, the ADON will help ensure informed, person-centered decision-making, high-quality care, and full regulatory compliance. Monitoring departmental outcomes and driving improvement efforts will be central to the ADON’s success.

 

Requirements

Education:
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Must have a Master's or a BSN, and enrolled in a Master's Program.  

 Licensure:
Applicants must hold a current Registered Professional Nurse license in the State of New York.

 Work Experience:
A minimum of three years’ experience in Med/Surg with 3 years of manager or supervisory experience.

 Skills and Competencies:
The role requires strong collaboration skills, particularly the ability to work effectively with medical staff, department managers, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

 

Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000
