Job Description
SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment is responsible for executing a comprehensive recruiting strategy in domestic and international markets for incoming graduate students. Reporting to the Associate Director of Graduate Recruitment, the Assistant Director of Graduate Recruitment provides comprehensive information about all graduate programs and admissions procedures to prospective domestic and international graduate students, culminating in the successful enrollment of prospective students. This position serves an integral role on the Graduate Admissions team to ensure the graduate enrollment goals are met and exceeded.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In conjunction with the Associate Director of Graduate Recruitment, manage a comprehensive plan to recruit, admit, and enroll students interested in graduate and certificate programs.
Manages a comprehensive and data-driven recruitment strategy in domestic and international markets.
Implements communication strategies for prospective and admitted students utilizing tools such as customer relationship management to send out letters, e-mails, texts and make phone calls and/or personal appointments.
Ensures that on-campus and online graduate programs are properly marketed in assigned territories, and actively recruits and manages efforts in these territories.
Administers yield initiatives for applicants and newly admitted students, including outreach campaigns for incomplete applicants, newly accepted students, and follow-up campaigns with new students who have yet to enroll.
Utilizes software systems, reports and data analysis to track students through the application and enrollment process.
Ensures applications and corresponding student records in the Student Information system is complete and accurate.
Utilizes a variety of software programs including but not limited to Banner, Slate, Outlook, Word, Excel and other related programs.
Attends and assists in all on-campus and virtual recruitment events including Open Houses, Information Sessions, admitted student’s receptions, campus retention programs, and commencement events.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a field related to the position.
A minimum of two year of higher education recruitment experience.
Prior experience in marketing, communication and social media strategy.
Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Must have excellent public speaking skills and ability to present the University to individual students as well as large diverse audiences in a positive manner. Strong written and verbal skills to support relationship building with prospective students and other constituents.
Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of the students and offer appropriate solutions. Must be able to work independently, exercise discretion, and assume responsibility.
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required to perform job functions.
Availability to work evenings or weekends and limited local travel.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
PREFERRED:
At least two years of management experience in higher education.
Experience in recruiting non-traditional, adult, graduate, international and/or online population.
Familiarity with New Jersey and tri-state graduate higher education market.
Experience working in a public university, school with large number of graduate students or centralized graduate admission offices.
Experience working and/or recruit international students.
Ability to quickly adapt to new and changing software systems is also preferred.
Spanish speaker.
