The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in overseeing all financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations, and financial reporting standards. This role plays a key part in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and driving cost efficiency while maintaining the integrity of financial records.
 
What will I be doing?

The Assistant Director of Finance will support all activities performed by the Director of Finance, to include but not limited to, understanding and driving financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and month-end closing activities, coordinating and reviewing monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform System of Accounts and Hilton policies and procedures. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

\n\nIn absence of the Director of Finance, the Assistant Director of Finance will assume responsibilities of the department lead.\nEnsure a smooth operation of all hotel finance activities in full compliance with the policy, regulatory and contractual framework.\nAssist in the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.\nSupport the budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department heads.\nMonitor daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.\nEnsure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.\nPrepare financial reports for senior management with variance analysis and recommendations.\nCoordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.\nAssist in cash flow management and forecasting.\nHelp implement financial systems or tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.\nProvide training and support to the finance team, ensuring development and succession planning.\nAct as a financial advisor to operational departments, promoting a culture of financial accountability.                                    \n

What are we looking for?

\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA/ACCA preferred).\nMinimum 5 years of progressive finance experience in a luxury hotel or hospitality industry.\nStrong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and analysis.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections\nStrong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate\nAbility to proactively identify and prevent potential problems\nAbility to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate\nAbility to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities\nAbility to manage and develop staff\nDetail oriented and organized\nAbility to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners\nStrong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)\nProficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required\n\n
