General Statement
In support of the Student Services staff in the Athletic Department, and under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, the Assistant Director for Compliance is responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring a compliant environment for 15 NCAA Division I athletic programs. The position provides student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff with guidance, training and resources ensuring compliance with all Big Sky Conference and NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Create, implement, and maintain a rules education program for coaches, staff and student-athletes with the Assistant AD for Compliance.
+ Provide rules interpretations to institutional coaches and staff as needed.
+ Coordinate compliance on-boarding checklist for new staff members.
+ Work with campus staff and external constituents to ensure compliance with all institutional rules and regulations as well as Big Sky Conference and NCAA rules.
+ Oversee routing of initial eligibility reviews and approve recruiting visits.
+ Monitor CARA reporting, report violations where necessary.
+ Assist with Post Eligibility/Medical Scholarship Program, to ensure it meets all necessary rules and regulations.
+ Manage Student-Athlete Database in Teamworks Compliance/ ARMS ; Monitor, update, and maintain student-athlete files, and manage new student – athlete paperwork and required forms.
+ Assist in the maintenance, reporting, and monitoring of name, image, and likeness and revenue sharing systems.
+ Compile complimentary pass lists and work with the ticket office and compliance to assure lists are accurate and complete.
+ Manage camp paperwork and monitor for compliance.
+ Maintain accurate graduation cohorts for graduation rate reporting.
+ Provide Administration support to Academic Center staff, Financial Aid Coordinator, Compliance Staff and University Athletic Committee.
+ Other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Compliance or the Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ 1 year of Division 1 athletic compliance experience or related legal education or experience.
+ Administrative compliance work experience with an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service in an office setting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficient computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email software (Microsoft Office preferred).
+ Demonstrated skill organizing and prioritizing large volumes of work with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality; paying close attention to detail; meeting strict deadlines; and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach.
+ Ability to analyze and address problems and provide a sound solution or an alternative course of action.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Post graduate degree.
+ 2 years of experience in NCAA Division I athletic compliance
+ Prior administrative experience in a University (or similar) environment.
+ Experience using student systems (Banner) and compliance software (Teamworks Compliance & Recruiting, LSDBi, Compliance Assistant).
+ Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations, and ability to ensure compliance with these regulations.

+ Positively and professionally represent MSU and the Athletic Department under all circumstances.
