Job Summary Chartwells K12 is seeking a motivated and service-driven Director of Dining Services / Assistant Director to join our leadership team at Elko County School District in Elko, NV. This exciting new account serves over 9,500 students across 36 public schools, offering a unique opportunity to support a large-scale K–12 dining program from the ground up. Reporting to the Senior Director of Dining Services, the Assistant Director will play a key role in helping to manage the day-to-day operations of this large scale foodservice operation, working closely with a skilled Executive Chef and a seasoned hourly team to ensure high-quality service and student satisfaction. In this role, you will assist in managing team performance, supporting client relationships, and helping drive operational excellence across multiple sites. You’ll contribute to financial oversight, staff development, and compliance with district and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: + Assist with leading, mentoring, and encouraging our team of frontline associates. + Partnering with leadership team to drive critical initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and increase profitability. + Recruit, train, and develop top talent within the organization. + Assists in overseeing the annual budget and control costs. + Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sanitation standards. + Build positive relationships with clients, customers, and associates. + Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of a dining service operation. Preferred Qualifications: + Associate's degree in Food Services/Management/Hospitality/Culinary/Nutrition preferred, not mandatory. + Three plus years of foodservice management experience, prefers K12. + Knowledge of high-volume food production is preferred. + Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience. + Exceptional leadership skills. + Catering experience preferred. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Proficiency in computer skills.
