No County Albany Street Address NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision 1220 Washington Ave, Building 4 City Albany State NY Zip Code 12226 Duties Description The Office of Special Investigations (OSI) is seeking qualified candidates for consideration to serve as the Assistant Deputy Chief Investigator (ADCI) supervising two Senior Investigative Analysts (SIA) and multiple Investigative Analyst (IA) in the Analysis Unit (AU). The OSI Analysis Unit specializes in tactical intelligence analysis to support and advance OSI’s criminal and administrative investigations. The Analysis Unit further performs statistical and trends analysis regarding violence or misconduct within correctional facilities to identify trends and organization risk on a statewide, regional, and per-facility basis. The Analysis Unit produces and disseminates bulletins, white papers, and memos to support OSI executives, as well as departmental and facility-based leadership, in efficient decision-making and policy recommendations. The Analysis Unit generates data, reports, and findings that will enable decision-makers within the Department to make more informed risk-mitigation decisions based on an “intelligence-led” model. OSI is expanding the Analysis Unit to meet the analytic needs of not only OSI, but also the DOCCS Executive team and facility Superintendents.OSI investigative staff must possess, at a minimum, knowledge of the applicable laws, the highest levels of behavior including personal integrity and ethics; fairness; character; judgment; attitude; and respect for and ability to work with others inside and outside OSI. OSI investigative staff must have state-of-the-art technical skills for thorough and objective investigations and to fulfill OSI’s mission. Appropriate licensure and certifications (including being or becoming a peace officer qualified to carry a firearm) are also required. The ability to travel is also necessary. Minimum Qualifications The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Office of Special Investigations (OSI) is seeking qualified candidates to be considered for to serve as an Assistant Deputy Chief Investigator (ADCI) in the Intake, Training, and Analysis Division (ITAD) in Albany, specifically to oversee and lead the Analysis Unit. Minimum qualifications for this position further include: • The qualifications for an ADCI include at least six years’ criminal analysis experience and at least two years of leadership, management, and supervisory experience. OSI may accept relevant advanced educational degrees (i.e., above high school or GED) as a substitute for investigative experience on a two-years education for one-year investigative experience basis for all of OSI’s peace officer positions. • Appropriate licensure and certifications (including being or becoming a peace officer qualified to carry a firearm). • Proficiency with Analyst Notebook, ARC GIS, PLX or Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.• Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis, intelligence analysis, writing, and public speaking. • Demonstrative evidence of integrity, ethical behavior, and the ability to conduct, fair, thorough, and impartial investigations.
