Project & Development Services - MENA
JLL Project & Development Services (P&DS) MENA provides consulting, design, management and build services to tenant and owners, leveraging technology and digital solutions to drive outstanding service delivery. We bring a life-cycle perspective to our clients, from development solutions to our core services in programme, project and cost management and consulting in digital solutions, tenancy management, sustainability, leisure & entertainment, and workplace & design.
About the RoleThe Assistant Cost Manager will provide critical support for both pre-contract and post-contract activities within our Project & Development Services (PDS) team in Egypt. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects while developing expertise in cost management and quantity surveying under professional guidance.
What This Job InvolvesPre-Contract Activities:
Assist in budget development through feasibility estimates and detailed cost plans from concept through construction documentation.Work collaboratively with team members to prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and conduct efficient take-offs.Help prepare regular financial updates and change reports for Project Owners.Support the tender process including analysis, communication with bidders, and preparation of comparison summaries.Post-Contract Activities:
Assist in processing contract variations, additional works, and claims.Conduct site visits under supervision to verify measurements and monitor progress.Support the review of subcontractor payment applications.Help maintain project cost control reports comparing actual versus budgeted costs.Assist in reviewing monthly payment valuations and preparing draft final accounts.Participate in commercial and technical meetings with stakeholders as required.Desired Skills and Experience3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, estimating, or cost control.Bachelor's degree in Architecture, MEP, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.Basic understanding of pre and post-contract cost and commercial management.Good written and verbal communication skills in English.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with AutoCAD.Knowledge of cost estimation software, particularly CostX (advantageous).Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments simultaneously.Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.What you can expect from us
