Assistant Controller

Description
Lead, train, and support office staff, ensuring smooth daily operations Oversee payroll and benefits administration Develop and implement office policies to improve efficiency and compliance Manage documents including payroll, vehicle deals, commissions, and inventory updates Control petty cash and reconcile selected accounts monthly Ensure manufacturer accounts (warranty claims, rebates, co-op advertising, etc.) are current and accurate Support preparation of month-end close, financial statements, and annual audits Provide daily operating control (DOC) and financial reports to the GM and leadership team Approve adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts as necessary Ensure compliance with government regulations and dealership standards Support managers in staying compliant with state and federal labor laws Cross-train to provide coverage across administrative functions as needed Partner with leadership to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience required Minimum 1 year of office management or supervisory experience Associate degree in Accounting preferred Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Automotive industry experience a plus Experience with dealership management systems (such as CDK) a plus Ambition to step into a Controller position in 2–3 years

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.
