Job Description:
As the Interim Assistant Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing accounting operations and ensuring financial accuracy during this temporary assignment. Responsibilities will include:
+ Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
+ Managing the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
+ Supervising accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
+ Monitoring and analyzing manufacturing costs and inventory valuations.
+ Collaborating with department heads to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
+ Supporting internal audits and acting as a point of contact for external auditors.
+ Identifying areas for process improvements and implementing actionable solutions.
+ Assisting with the transition to permanent financial leadership, if applicable.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
+ Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles.
+ Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
