Assistant Controller
Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a dynamic property management company in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to lead a small team while managing critical financial operations, including month-end processes and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in general ledger management and a strong background in financial audits. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Supervise and support a small team in completing daily accounting tasks and maintaining compliance. • Perform reconciliations for bank accounts and other financial statements, ensuring accuracy and consistency. • Maintain and monitor the general ledger, ensuring proper categorization and documentation of transactions. • Prepare and review financial reports, providing insights to support organizational decision-making. • Collaborate with auditors during financial statement audits and address any inquiries efficiently. • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations in all financial operations. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency. • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to support organizational planning objectives. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and reconciliation. • Familiarity with financial statement audits and audit preparation. • Proficiency in accounting software and tools relevant to the property management industry. • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to manage and lead a small team effectively. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
