Description We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This position plays a key role in managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting financial decision-making processes. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance expert with strong analytical skills and a commitment to excellence in financial management.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with organizational standards.
• Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Controller to create and analyze annual budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights based on financial performance.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring timely delivery of required documentation and responses.
• Utilize accounting software and systems to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Guide and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support business initiatives, including cost-saving measures and investment opportunities. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on interpreting complex financial data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
