Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to financial operations and strategic planning. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing accounting functions, managing reporting processes, and supporting decision-making efforts. Responsibilities: • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards. • Oversee fixed asset management, including tracking and reporting. • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports to support organizational goals. • Manage cost accounting processes to evaluate and optimize operational efficiency. • Collaborate with auditors to ensure successful completion of audits and adherence to regulations. • Support strategic planning initiatives by contributing to budgeting and forecasting activities. • Supervise cash management activities to maintain financial stability. • Handle payroll processes and potentially assist with benefits administration. • Manage and mentor a clerk responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable, providing backup support as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management. • Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices. • Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Familiarity with strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting. • Experience with payroll systems and cash management. • Ability to manage and mentor team members effectively. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with auditors and internal teams.
