Summary:
Assistant Controller will have direct supervision over accounts payable, general ledger and accounts receivable. In addition, responsible for assisting the Controller with SOX implementation and on-going compliance. This position is part of the Controllership job function, which is responsible for maintaining accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls.
Primary Job Functions:
Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. Ensure a timely and accurate 4-day close Be the primary point of contact for operations to resolve any operational headwinds Ensure controls are operating effectively and, if not, be proactive in remediation efforts Provide formal supervision to employees to include A/P, GL, A/R, Treasury & Sox Compliance and other areas as needed. Track the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. Main point of contact for audit, both domestic and foreign Work with management to establish departmental priorities to meet deadlines. Refine financial policies and procedures. Work with the Operations team to support initiatives within the business. Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.
