Description
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Utah. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective inventory management across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with production and warehouse teams while maintaining detailed financial records and supporting process improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain precise records of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods at various locations.
• Reconcile inventory accounts monthly, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory, cost allocations, and accruals.
• Oversee essential bookkeeping tasks such as ledger updates and account reconciliations.
• Facilitate the monthly financial close process to deliver timely and accurate reports.
• Assist in the implementation and data migration for a new accounting and inventory system.
• Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to optimize inventory tracking and reporting.
• Generate detailed reports and analyses on cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and profit margins.
• Support audit processes, both internal and external, focusing on inventory and operational compliance.
• Lead or contribute to financial projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency.
Requirements • A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or materials-based industries.
• Comprehensive knowledge of inventory accounting, journal entries, and monthly close procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accountability, with a willingness to work in warehouse settings when necessary.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present financial insights.
• Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation methods.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with audit procedures and requirements for inventory operations.
