Overview

This role supports the Chief Engineer in managing the daily operations of the Engineering Department to ensure our hotel remains safe, functional, and impeccably maintained. You’ll assist in overseeing routine maintenance, guest requests, and special projects, all while helping to lead a team that keeps our property running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all engineering operations and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc.)

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs across the property

Assign, supervise, and perform work orders and tasks to ensure timely completion

Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition

Support safety protocols and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes

Assist in training, coaching, and motivating engineering team members

Respond quickly and efficiently to guest and operational requests

Help manage vendors and outside contractors when needed

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in building maintenance, engineering, or facilities management, preferably in a hotel setting

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

Supervisory experience preferred

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and be on call as needed

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

A positive, can-do attitude and commitment to service excellence
