Applications will be accepted up to 90 days after the posting date, or until the position is filled (whichever is first). **Job Summary:** The Assistant Buyer – Apparel serves as both a support and developmental position within the apparel team and the greater VRR merchant team. The position is specifically responsible for supporting the apparel buying team and partnering with cross functional teams to execute the merchandising strategy that meets or exceeds financial goals for their respective departments. In addition, this position provides the training and education to develop their career in merchandising & inventory management. **Job Specifications:** + Starting Wage: $23.00/hr - $30.00/hr + Employment Type: Year Round + Shift Type: Full Time hours available + Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age + Housing Availability: No **Job Qualifications:** + Assist apparel team with the implementation of category/company initiatives across all vendors and locations + Participate in the evaluation of sales trends, and the implementation of sales growth programs + Develop understanding of financial reporting metrics including sales, margin and inventory turn. + Assist in the life cycle management of product categories (Markdowns, Stock balancing, and Reorders) + Assist in assortment & pre season planning, PO execution, and vendor communication + Collaborates with Merchant team and cross functional teams to help drive opportunities and sell through + Assist in the communication of category initiatives to vendors, operational teams and other stakeholders + Analytical Reporting- Provide routine reporting on shipping & PO discrepancies + Opportunity to attend local trade shows and vendor line reviews as approved by manager. + Develop individual Leadership through Vail Resorts sponsored internal training/leadership development programs. + Supports Vail Resorts Core Values: Do Right, Drive Value, Serve Others, Have Fun, Be Safe & Elevate. **Job Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience. + 2+ years of relevant Retail experience with: reporting, inventory management, store sales and operations, etc. + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook + Communicate fluently with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English + Attention to detail with sound analytical skills + Solid written and verbal communication skills + Ability to prioritize work load and timeline management **Preferred:** + Excel including pivot tables, advanced formulas and data manipulation. + Clear understanding of basic financial measures + Analytical and problem-solving skills + Written and verbal communication skills The expected Total Compensation for this role is $23.00/hr - $30.00/hr.
