Job Description

General Summary:
Responsible for assisting administratively with camps, scouting, and the recruitment of student-athletes. Monitor the academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes. Maintains equipment, participates in fundraising and public relations activities, and with special projects as assigned by the Head Coach.
Responsibilities:
+ Coaching games and practices to include: team instruction and game planning during the championship segment, individual skill instruction during the non-championship segment, youth instruction in summer camps and clinics, practice preparation, scouting, and film review.
+ Skill evaluation and recruitment of college-bound student-athletes.
+ Monitoring and ensuring the academic progress and ongoing eligibility of currently enrolled student-athletes.
+ General administrative tasks and public relations activities as assigned by the head coach.

Necessary Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience coaching baseball is required.
+ Due to recruiting and overnight travel, applicants must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
+ Must be able to obtain a State of Texas vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment.
+ Must qualify to operate a vehicle within the TAMUS guidelines.
+ Ability to maintain TAMUS approval.
+ Ability to pass NCAA Recruiting Test annually is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree.
+ Two (2) years of prior playing/coaching experience at the collegiate level.
+ Knowledge of NCAA Regulations.
