Pitt’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Band Director. Responsibilities include administrative duties, and assistance in the overall direction of a Division 1A college marching band, pep band, and symphonic band. The individual will also be responsible for recruiting new band members and alumni functions. A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree in music education is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in and experience with marching percussion. A minimum of three years of experience is required directing and/or assisting in the direction of a large student band. Experience at the collegiate level is preferred. The individual must have excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal communication, and logistical management skills, and music arranging, and/or drill writing skills.
