Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is hiring for a full-time Assistant Athletics Director of Compliance, Student Athlete Services, and Sports Administration to join our community. This exempt level position will serve as a senior leader in the Athletic Department, while being responsible for the overall development, implementation, daily operation, and review of the College’s NCAA compliance program. The successful candidate will also be responsible for student-athlete support services, which include but are not limited to academics, life skills, and student-athlete development. This Assistant Athletic Director also manages sport administration for assigned sports.Major Responsibilities:
•Develop and direct a comprehensive compliance program for educating, monitoring, reporting, and complying with all NCAA, Conference, and College rules and regulations as they relate to intercollegiate athletics. •Develop and direct student-athlete support services to include academics, life skills and student-athlete development in coordination with campus efforts to enhance the student-athlete experience. •Monitor all student-athlete Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) and recruiting activities for all sports. •Evaluate and monitor the eligibility status of prospective and current student-athletes. •Coordinate the College Letter of Intent and Athletic Scholarship paperwork for prospective student-athletes in conjunction with financial aid. •Work as the department liaison to various College departments/areas. •Develop and conduct programs for compliance-related education to prospective student-athletes, enrolled student-athletes, coaches, employees, Board Members, Boosters, and representatives of athletics interests regarding NCAA, Conference, and College rules. •Develop and conduct programs, in conjunction with other campus partners, for student athletes that encourage student-athlete support and growth in academics, life skills, and person development. •Attend NCAA and Conference meetings/conventions as requested by the Director of Athletics, including the annual NCAA Regional Rules Seminars. •Complete and review all NCAA, Conference, and College compliance forms and reports, including but not limited to NCAA Demographic Report, Academic Progress Report, Drug Testing Consent Form, Student-Athlete Statement, the ISSG, waivers, hardship requests, appeals, EADA Report, the NCAA Financial Report, etc., with assistance from other departments as appropriate. •Serve as the point person for potential and alleged rules violations. •Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree preferred. •Two or more years of progressive experience in a collegiate compliance operation, preferably in an NCAA Division II setting. •Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations. •Working knowledge and efficiency of standard software systems such a Microsoft Office. •Experience using NCAA Compliance-related programs such as ARMS, Compliance Assistant, LSDBi, Eligibility Center, and Transfer Portal. •Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously. •Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and in a warm, professional manner. •Ability to work weekends and evenings. •Ability to maintain confidentiality.
