Assistant Accounts Payable Manager
Job Title: Assistant Accounts Payable Manager Location: Riceboro, GA | Industry: Chemical Manufacturing | Experience Level: Expert Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accounts Payable Manager to support the AP function at our client’s chemical manufacturing facility in Riceboro, GA. This role will be instrumental in ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, maintaining compliance with internal controls, and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the AP department. Key Responsibilities + Ensure W-9 forms are received and verified before vendor setup in the ERP system. + Assist in preparing checks and electronic payments once vendor payments are approved. + Guarantee timely and accurate payments to all suppliers and vendors. + Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice-related issues. + Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoice processing. + Collaborate with external auditors by providing original documentation as needed. + Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate AP staff to maintain a high-performing team. + Develop and enhance AP policies and internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency. + Ensure accurate and timely distribution of 1099s in compliance with IRS guidelines. + Assist in preparing weekly cash forecasts. + Maintain and update AP policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls. + Act as the AP system super user, leading system upgrades and implementations. + Drive continuous improvement initiatives in AP systems and processes. + Manage Corporate Credit Card and PCard programs, including monthly reconciliations. Qualifications & Skills: + Bachelor’s degree preferred. + 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, including supervisory responsibilities. + Experience in the supply chain or manufacturing industry preferred. + Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. + Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. + High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. + Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented. + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. + Experience with OCR and automated invoice processing software. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $95000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
