Job DescriptionApplications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be required to co-ordinate the necessary financial activities relating to all Fixed Assets of the Mine and ensure the application of sound commercial, accounting and governance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the complete fixed assets register to ensure adherence to mine policies, ICFR/Sox compliance and IFRS compliance.Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end procedures relating to Fixed Assets including but not limited to detailed depreciation calculations, impacts of impairment per IAS 36, performing physical verification of fixed asset and facilitating the process of reassessment of useful lives and residual values.Compile and manage the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasts of depreciation for the mine.Analyze information related to assets by using appropriate accounting techniques to determine and recommend various alternatives to ensure accuracy.Compiling and managing all on- mine Fixed Asset Policies and Procures supporting continuous business improvement.Ensure compliance with the IFRS Guidelines of Fixed Assets with specific focus on IAS 16 and IAS 36.Build relationships across disciplines by sharing business information and knowledge to enable the attainment of operational objectives.Participate in costing, project and capital accounting to always ensure a close link to business.Assist the Cost and Financial Accountant as and when required.Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Education & Experience)
Grade12/N3 or relevant NQF level 4 qualification.A relevant Bachelor of Commercial Degree or Diploma with finance/ cost accountancy major or equivalent.Minimum 3 years’ experience in general financial/ cost accounting or an auditing environment.1 year working experience of SAP , specifically Fixed Assets and projects modules would bean advantage.Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate) on mine.Your consideration for employment is subject to your SAPS Criminal Record verification and qualifications verification.SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
