REQ13040 Assistant Accountant, Project & Fixed Assets (Open)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Accountant, Project & Fixed Assets is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of fixed asset information into the accounting system and the preparation of financial reports relating to fixed assets for management and external reporting purposes.

In addition, they are also responsible to assist with the accurate and timely preparation and monitoring of capital budgets and forecasts. 

Duties also include office administration, such as the accurate sorting and filing of relevant documents.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare entries of additions, disposals, depreciation and accruals for the General Ledger and the Fixed Assets Register (FAR)

2. Assist with tasks associated with the month end closing process including preparing reconciliations between the FAR and the General Ledger

3. Interact with the Construction team and other departments to ensure fixed assets costs are properly classified and recorded

4. Maintain records of fixed asset requests and liase with requestors as to the approval status of their requests

5. Produce accurate and timely financial reports (eg on additions, disposals, etc) for use by management

6. Assist with the preparation of the Capital & Depreciation annual budget/5-year plan and reforecasts when required

7. Investigate, assess and report on cost variations to approved capital expenditure for individual projects

8. Prepare information for tax filing or other reporting to government agencies

9. Assist with the preparation of information as required for external and internal auditors

10. Responsible for tagging of the Company’s assets

11. Conduct periodic physical stocktake on the Company’s assets

12. Ad hoc projects as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experienceAppropriate tertiary qualification, majoring in AccountingA recognized accounting qualification or studying for such a qualification would be an advantage but not essentialSound knowledge of accounting standards and taxation lawsPrevious experience working in the Gaming and/or Hotel industry would be a benefit but not essential

Good command of written and spoken Chinese and EnglishAbility to work under pressure and achieving reporting time linesGood excel skills, and proficiency with computer applications & accounting softwareStrong attention to detail and well organisedA high commitment to excellent customer serviceAbility to work in a team to achieve business objectives and common goalsAbility to adopt and implements new approaches and practices to meet changing circumstances
