Assistant, Customer Quality (6-Month FTC)

Job Summary  

ResMed is a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of innovative products for the diagnosis, treatment and management of sleep disordered breathing and respiratory disorders. 

In this role, you will be responsible for unpackaging deliveries, logging them into the online complaints system, labelling the products and storing them in the investigations laboratory. Responsibilities will also include archiving devices into boxes ahead of long-term storage or secure disposal. The position involves working in a lab environment, adhering to safety requirements and following established documented procedures.  

 

Position Overview

The Assistant, Customer Quality plays a crucial role in supporting the investigations laboratory by handling complaint products. This position involves unpacking deliveries, accurately logging items into the online complaints system, labeling, and securely storing devices. The role also includes archiving products for long-term storage or secure disposal, ensuring strict adherence to documented procedures and safety standards within a regulated lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

Unpack incoming deliveries of complaint products, managing items weighing between 1kg and 16kg, while assessing safe handling capabilities or necessary accommodations.

Enter product details accurately into the online complaints system and update records manually.

Label and store complaint products systematically in designated laboratory shelving.

Archive devices in preparation for long-term storage or secure disposal, maintaining detailed records in archive spreadsheets.

Maintain the Chain of Custody for complaint products involved in legal matters, documenting all transfers and handling steps in a chronological log.

Follow strict laboratory safety protocols, including mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Safely use tools such as box cutters and scissors while working near electrical equipment and potential biological or hazardous materials.

Assess the work environment’s safety and accessibility to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Stand for extended periods as required by laboratory tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

Strong attention to detail and ability to strictly follow documented processes and procedures.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with online system search tools.

Excellent organizational skills and reliability.

Preferred:

Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally within medical devices or healthcare industries.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Laboratory setting with controlled access and strict safety measures.

Ability to stand for prolonged periods and handle products weighing up to 16kg.

Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
