Your Impact

We are seeking a Client Onboarding New Account Approver professional to join the Goldman Sachs Wealth Services team in Asset & Wealth Management. The team is responsible for collaborating with the GSWS Advisor Teams, Legal, Compliance, Technology and Anti Money Laundering function to facilitate account opening and maintenance for GSWS clients while providing excellent client service and subject matter expertise to our business partners.

This role will require the candidate to have a solid understanding of various new account types, account documentation, data integrity, risk management and financial regulatory requirements. Client Onboarding New Account Approver is responsible for capturing all required information for regulatory compliance, firm policies and to perform due diligence for all new client accounts/applications. The ideal candidate will be FINRA Series 4, 7 & 9/10 licensed and have previous broker‐dealer and/or clearing firm experience in a financial service brokerage environment. Additionally, the candidate will be challenged to review and improve existing processes/procedures to further reduce risk while increasing efficiency.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Prior broker‐dealer operations experience, especially with new account opening, would be requiredPerform new client screening for Anti Money Laundering and Know Your Client requirementsUtilize proprietary and external systems to evaluate complex account opening requirements while making critical thinking decisions in a fast‐paced brokerage environmentWork closely with GSWS Advisor teams ensuring all client documentation is accurate and up to dateGenerate reporting metrics while leveraging the firm’s platforms to continually meet and ultimately improve the needs of the businessMonitor activities related to the inflow and outflow of client information while mitigating unnecessary exposure to the firm and its clients.Instrumental in the documenting of new and the editing of existing procedures while recommending follow‐up actions or alternatives.Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external partners while supporting positive outcomes for the firm and its clientsSolid understanding of reporting, analytical, and risk mitigation techniquesWork closely with related teams across the business to ensure new account reviews are conducted while leveraging proper control and risk mitigation strategiesDevelopment, implementation, and execution of risk prevention strategies while mitigating fraudulent activitySeek opportunities to leverage data review/analysis to identify opportunities to improve processes and proceduresAbility to work independently and within a team environmentInformation confidentiality is of the utmost importance for this position

Qualifications

FINRA Series 7, 9/10 required, Series 4 would be a plus or willingness to obtain within 90 daysFinancial service experience and knowledge of investment products would be required.Ability to analyze patterns/trends and communicate findings in an effective/efficient mannerGood understanding of the investment banking/securities industry and various investment productsStrong analytical, investigative, and risk assessment skillsAbility to prioritize demanding workflows, detail‐oriented, and well organizedAbility to take ownership and work independently while being team‐orientedExcellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of managementDemonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills to achieve desired outcomes

Education Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields
