The Role: Asset Manager

We’re looking for a capable leader with the right attitude to step into a pivotal Asset Management role supporting a critical Defence capability. In this key role, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of asset management services to maximise the value of a critical Defence asset. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to drive performance, maintain compliance, and support a strong safety and im

provement culture. This role is based in the Naval Base at Garden Island.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of asset strategies to drive long-term valuePlan and manage sustainment activities across performance, cost, and riskCoordinate supportability analysis, sparing, maintenance and obsolescence planningOversee lifecycle asset planning – from acquisition to disposalManage and enhance the accuracy of asset data and reportingMaintain ISO55000 accreditation and champion continuous improvementLead, coach and mentor a high-performing cross-functional teamPromote a strong safety culture and collaborative working environmentDrive innovation and quality improvements that support customer satisfaction

Your Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Engineering, business or relevant tertiary qualifications (preferred)Strong relationship builder with great communication and leadership skillsA team-first attitude and drive to influence positive changeExperience in asset management, maintenance or operations in complex environmentsWorking knowledge of ISO standards and asset lifecycle planningConfident with data, analysis and problem-solvingCommercially aware, safety-focused, and customer-minded
