Asset Management - Global Market Strategist - Associate

The Global Market Insights Strategy Team (GMIST) runs an industry-leading program providing financial advisors and their clients, as well as institutional investors, with the tools and perspective they need to make informed investment decisions.  The program has two main objectives: 1) to position JPMorgan Asset Management as an outstanding provider of market and economic insight to financial advisors, asset allocators and investment research teams, and 2) to help our sales force in building lasting client relationships, gaining access to prospective clients and creating distinct sales opportunities across the APAC region.

As an Associate Global Market Strategist in the Global Market Insights Team based in Hong Kong, you will assist the broader APAC team in formulating and disseminating JP Morgan Asset Management's view on the markets, economies and investing to a broad audience including financial institutions, financial advisors and retail clients. You are expected to have a solid understanding of capital markets and strong background in data analysis and competences in coding, as well as being an effective presenter.  

Job responsibilities

Processing and analyzing economic and financial market data to produce the Guide to the Market Asia and associated research publications under the Market Insights brand.  Innovating and enhancing current processes in data compilation and illustration.  Conduct research and analysis on economic and financial market developments and generate investment recommendations. Present economic and market analysis, and investment recommendations to key stakeholders.  

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Strong data analytical skills with econometric or statistics background.  Competences in coding (Python) and programming is a requirement. Familiarity with data sources such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Reuters, etc.  Advanced degree in Finance or Economics and/or CFA (level 1 or further). Fluent in English, Mandarin and/or Cantonese Strong communications skills in both impactful writing and presenting in virtual and in-person formats.  Ability to communicate ideas with passion and clarity (simplify the complex/use of stories and analogies).
