As a Forest Supervisor at Campbell Global, you will lead a team of professionals responsible for all aspects of silviculture and timber harvesting activities, ensuring that goals and objectives are met in accordance with fiduciary, regulatory, and environmental standards. This role also involves providing professional and personal leadership to tree farm personnel, reports to the District Manager, and collaborates with various teams on special projects. Additionally, you will offer forest management expertise to support annual property-specific goals and objectives.

Job responsibilities

Contract with third parties to perform harvesting and silviculture-related services (prospectus preparation, identification of qualified/licensed contractors or consultants, bid analysis, negotiations, contract execution and compliance monitoring)Implement policies, procedures, and guidelines regarding all forest management activities to ensure the highest quality while managing cost effectivenessMaintain full and appropriate compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local regulations, Licensing Standards, Forest Practice laws, SFI Standards, and FSC Standards. Participate in the implementation and utilization of GIS. Provide GIS Forester information needed to update maps regarding stand treatments, boundaries, inventory depletions, stream locations and stream classificationMonitor expenditures and operation levels closely to comply with budget limitations.Maintain good communication and excellent working relationships with outside agencies and companies as well as internal colleaguesSupport and participate fully in local SFI program and FSC program and ensure that environmental or financial risk management reporting is conducted in a timely and professional manner to your Area Manager and, if appropriate, local Safety Coordinator

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Engineering, or closely related field with 5 year’s work experience in forest management or equivalent training and experience supervising employeesExcellent analytical, computer, and critical-thinking skills including planning, budgeting, and forecasting with interpersonal skills as well as good communication skills, both oral and writtenValid Driver’s License and good driving recordAbility to work alone in the outdoors over extremely rough, brushy, and uneven terrain in all weather conditions while managing multiple projects from initiation to final completion in a timely manner
