We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operational Risk Analyst/Associate to join our AM Public & Private Operational Risk Management team. This role is critical in supporting the risk management framework across various business segments, supporting the Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) division. The focus of this role is on proactive identification of operational risks, root cause analysis of events, business partnership, operational resilience, stakeholder engagement, control evaluation and firmwide framework implementation. This role requires collaboration across various stakeholder groups within the firm and division, including investment teams, compliance, legal, and other risk management functions to ensure that operational risk events are assessed thoroughly, controls points are up to date, and current risk guidelines align with industry regulations and the firm's overall risk management and governance framework.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential:
Business Coverage
Partner with relevant business leadership, portfolio managers, traders, operations and engineering counterparts to proactively identify areas of operational risk which require remediationFacilitate the firmwide risk framework, including logging of operational risk events, inherent risk assessment and control assessments Assist with escalation protocols and socialization of material events and facilitate the management of live events as they unfoldOperational Resilience
Support the divisions operational resilience program through business continuity planning, testing, and engagement with various regulatory programs focused on resilienceGovernance
Assist in the preparation of risk reports for fund boards, risk councils, divisional and firmwide committees, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timelinessConduct the bi-weekly operational risk focus group to ensure events are appropriately researched with remediation plans receiving the necessary level of scrutiny and reviewClient Engagement
Oversee the annual SOC 1 audit across various business segments, ensuring efficient and effective communication between control side teams and auditorsParticipate in due diligence meetings for existing and prospective client bases across business segmentsDivisional Risk and Control Reporting
Contribute to the development and production of regular risk and control reports for AWM management.Identify opportunities to improve data collection and review processes through new technologies such as AISkills & Experience We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.1 year+ of experience in asset management, private investing, risk management, compliance, or a related field within the asset management industryExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExperience with AI tools, data mining and techniques for analysis of unstructured data is a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and accuracy
