Asset Care - Project Engineer

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, as a Project Engineer you will play a crucial role in assisting our clients in the effective management of their Power Generation assets. Your responsibilities will encompass delivering technical support to Project Managers during substantial shutdowns/outages and taking direct charge of smaller projects for our Power Industry clients. Key aspects of this role include:

Involvement with various stages of asset management, including design, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, repair, life assessment and fitness for service. Exposure to a broad range of equipment types – Boilers, turbines, piping, rotating plant, tanks, etc. Commitment to working longer hours during shutdowns (eg. 60hrs per week) with benefits of overtime, accrued leave and extended breaks at other times throughout the year. Fast-paced and exciting work environment with various career development opportunities to build on your current skillset. Based in our Cameron Park Office but will involve travel to remote client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Forming part of a skilled and high-performing team, you will have the support of a progressive and experienced management team and be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging work environments.

Our teams love what they do, and when you’re working with us your day could involve:

Provide/coordinate Engineering, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Metallurgical solutions to common issues on boilers, turbines, and ancillary plant. Perform plant inspections as required. Ensuring adherence to pressure equipment regulations for clients throughout outage periods. Assist with the coordination of engineers, plant inspectors, and NDT technicians during plant outages and shutdowns, including emergency repairs. Compile technical reports based on inspection and NDT results. Develop inspection strategies and scopes of work. You will gain broad exposure in diverse operations while seeing the impact of your recommendations in sound decision making. Additionally, you will assist engineers during the inspection, technical assessment, evaluation and reporting stages of the project.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Degree or certificate in Mechanical / Materials Engineering. Graduate engineers will also be considered. AICIP qualification is desirable. Knowledge and experience with heavy industry such as Power Plants, Oil and Gas, or Process Industries preferably in an engineering, inspection, or advanced NDT role is desirable. Risk and hazard identification and assessment experience
