Job Description:

North Star Imaging (NSI), a global leader in 2D digital radiography and 3D computed tomography equipment, is part of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a Fortune 250 company. We design and manufacture cutting-edge industrial X-ray systems used in a wide range of industries. We’re looking for a skilled Assembly Technician to join our growing team and help us build the next generation of high-performance imaging systems.

About the Role: As an Assembly Technician you will perform a wide variety of duties associated with Industrial X-Ray system production.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical assembly of capital equipment per drawings, written or verbal instructions

Fabrication of components per engineered drawings or verbal instructions to include cutting, drilling and tapping

Electrical assembly per schematics

Wire and cable termination to electrical panel

Cable routing

Preparation of equipment or systems for shipment

Completion of system quality documentation

Maintain and control of stock inventory levels

Participation in improvement projects

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical/electrical assembly or a related field

Specialized technical training preferred

Knowledge of assembly techniques

Blue print and schematics reading

Mechanical & electrical aptitude

Safe operation of hand & power tools

Attention to detail

Have good communication skills & be a team player

You must be able to lift 30-60lbs, stand for extended periods of time and use ladder up to 15 feet

Must be able to pass a background test

Compensation Information:

The pay range for this position is $23-$27 an hour, depending on experience and education.
