**Opportunity**
BASIC FUNCTION
The Projects Assembly Engineer will have technical responsibility for implementing the manufacturing processes for the assembly area (Laser, Kitting, Subassemblies and finish goods components) at the Sanimex Faucet Operation (SFO) for new SKU’s or equipment introductions. To be successful in this role, the candidate would need to display interest in making an efficient and cost-effective process, taking safety, quality and productivity as his priorities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct the flow of material and operation of all equipment associated with the overall Assembly process.
Detect and be able to diagnose equipment and process problems associated with the assembly process. A basic understanding of previous operations and subsequent operations is necessary.
Direct major capital projects and equipment purchased for capacity and strategic purposes for Assembly process at SFO
Support corporate activities regarding the international growth of Global Faucets Operations.
Development of detailed process specifications and routings for manufacturing.
Responsible for developing, documenting and training of all new necessary processes associated with the Assembly process. (Ex. PFMEA, Control Plan, Flow Chart, PAPE and training)
Initiate investigation and testing of new processes or process changes to improve costs, quality, and productivity.
Assist with providing cost estimates for new projects.
Work with the Kohler supplier network within or outside the USA.
Responsible for launching new products, including lessons learned documented in the meeting with the SFO plant such as technical assessments of potential problems and the design of tooling.
Responsible for leading the general timeline of the whole assembly process from the start of the project until Op. cert approval for new components.
**Skills/Requirements**
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree (ABET). A background in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in applicable Manufacturing or Assembly operations experience
Formation:
Preference must have the ability to understand Bilingual (English & Spanish) is preferred.
Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is essential.
Experience in a manufacturing or related technical environment, preferably in a vertically integrated environment.
Proven experience in developing and driving changes and continuous improvement systems.
Proven experience in influencing and implementing these changes and improvements.
PPAP experience preferred.
CAD experience preferred.
SAP experience preferred.
