Introduction:

 

We are seeking skilled Assembly Mechanics for 2nd Shift to join our Repair Shop team. You will be responsible for the tear down, inspection, evaluation and final assembly of mining related equipment such as pinions, pumps, cone and gyratory crushers, and vibration screens. The Mechanic will ensure final assembly, in addition to completing all associated records and assembly action forms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine repairs, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering OEM specified service.
 
In this position, you will report to the Repair Production Manager.
 
This position is located in Mesa, AZ and based in a shop environment.
 
What you’ll do:

 

•    Perform minor and major repairs on various types of equipment received at the Repair Center to include all facets of large and small mining equipment and machinery.
•    Formulate all working procedures used for optimizing the quality of work and efficiency.
•    Keep the direct Shop Lead apprised of assembly status and escalates issues.

•    Work in collaboration with Repair Production Manager and other stakeholders such as Quality, Engineering, and HSE Personnel to ensure projects are tracked for completion.
•    Ability to comprehend assembly illustrations, general assembly engineering drawings, and repair procedures.
•    Willing to maintain current and/or upgrade qualifications/certifications with courses and training.
•    Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
•    Will possibly be required to work night and/or weekend shifts, as per workload requirements.
•    Perform other tasks as directed.
 
Who you are:

 

•    High school diploma or equivalent.
•    Prior repair experience with mining process equipment.
•    Ability to analyze situations and problems, ability to detect technical discrepancies.

•    Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety.
•    It's important to have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
•    Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, pi tapes, scales, etc. proficiently.
•    Ability to use hydraulic pullers and presses for disassembly and assembly work.
•    Understand mechanics of precision bearings, bushings, gearing as well as heating and cooling of components for disassembly and assembly of work. 
•    Candidate must have basic Mechanic Tools.
