Job Summary
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a skilled Aircraft Assembly Technician for a direct role to support the manufacturing and assembly of missile components, aircraft, and sub-aircraft structures. This role includes layout, installation, fabrication, sealing, and testing of components using both manual and automated tools and machinery. Candidates must have experience with aircraft assembly processes or have completed a certified training program.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and seal aircraft and missile components, including sheet metal and synthetic parts.
Set up and operate automated riveting machines, handheld electro-magnetic equipment, and other assembly tools.
Fabricate and install electrical wire harnesses and assemblies, following schematic diagrams and using wire boards.
Determine methods and sequences for fabrication, assembly, installation, rework, or modification based on engineering data and planning documents.
Perform functional and operational checks on installed systems (plumbing, hydraulics, etc.).
Conduct drilling, reaming, countersinking, and riveting using both manual and automated tools.
Apply protective coatings and sealants by brush or spray, and perform surface prep tasks like cleaning and degreasing.
Make minor equipment adjustments and perform limited machining operations as specified.
Perform repairs and rework of assemblies, including removing/replacing panels, fasteners, skins, etc.
Conduct secondary tasks such as alodining and painting when required.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the work area.
Accurately track work completion and labor charging using computer systems (TC1, MES, PII, etc.).
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on aircraft assembly experience
OR
Successful completion of a company-approved or certified aircraft assembly training program
Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and written instructions
Proficient with hand and power tools used in aerospace assembly
Basic computer proficiency required for timekeeping and documentation systems
Work Environment
Manufacturing and production floor
May involve standing, lifting, bending, and operating machinery for extended periods
Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols required
