Wabtec is seeking a qualified Assembler I (Relays) to join our team in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The ideal candidate will assemble prepared machined parts into Relay’s, according to prescribed patterns, through supervision by performing the following duties.
Assembler I (Relays) Job Responsibilities:
Assemble light weight components and piece parts to completely build, test and package relays or may operate small foot pedal or hand operated machines to form parts or subassemblies for either relays or contactors.
Work with housing, carriers, frames, contacts, core stops, coils, base assemblies, brackets and hardware to form a quality finished product.Perform simple setups on machines and verify quality of parts produced.If assembling, uses a test harness, gram gauge, a computerized functional test and hi-pot test station to verify quality of finished assembly or adjusts unit until test requirements are met.Covers tested unit, labels and boxes finished product. Follows assembly drawings, Process Standard Sheet (PSS) instructions and verbal directions from Team Leader and supervisor.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Assembler I (Relays) Skills/Qualifications:
Six (6) months to one (1) year technical studies; and six (6) months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software.Education:
