Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our team. This role involves assembling products according to detailed documentation and instructions, ensuring the precise alignment of subassemblies, and verifying fitting tolerances using various measuring instruments.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble products per documentation and directions provided.Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, following blueprint station lines and index points.Verify fitting tolerances using measuring instruments such as gauges and calipers.Install parts and components; specialize in assembling and installing parts, structural components, and/or subassemblies to build full assemblies and detail parts.Operate hand tools including drills, rivet guns, and screwdrivers; verify equipment is operating correctly and safely; perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance as appropriate.Locate holes to be drilled in structural assembly for installation of parts and components using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.Drill, ream, and countersink holes in subassemblies and install bolts, rivets, or other fasteners per drawings and work instructions.Utilize tape measures, mics, calipers, and other gauges to interpret and record part measurements per customer specifications accurately.Visually assess parts for missing or incomplete operations.Maintain quantities and operation accountability per the manufacturing control plan.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow directions consistently and accept responsibility for actions and work product.Comply with applicable manufacturing processes, work procedures, and supervisor instructions.Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures; proactively identify job hazards and collaborate with leadership to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience reading and accurately interpreting shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.Experience using precision measuring instruments including mics and calipers.Experience using hand tools and instruments such as calipers, height gauges, drills, and rivet guns.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to stand and walk throughout the facility and perform duties requiring manual dexterity.Capability to lift, carry, and push/pull up to 100 pounds using peer assistance and/or other lifting & material-handling equipment.Visual acuity to interpret readings on gauges and other measuring devices.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment involves exposure to excessive noise, requiring hearing protection, as well as regular exposure to dust, smoke, mist, and fumes/vapors. Occasionally, you may experience extreme temperatures. The role involves working with hazardous equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, cranes, or other lifting devices in a machine shop environment. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 5 PM.

This is a 4 month Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, Georgia.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
