This position may be filled as either a level 2, or level 3.
Overview
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assembler will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Works from diagrams, drawings, procedures and parts lists making early-stage subassemblies using hand and/or power tools. Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications provided by a Cognizant Engineer.
This position may perform actions in Manufacturing areas including Mechanical Assembly, Circuit Card Assembly, Microelectronics Production, and Electronic Component Assembly depending on the business need or workload capacity.
This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in a team environment, can perform tasks under a microscope on very small assemblies; has a high level of attention to detail and quality. The chosen candidate must be able to multi-task and flex between multiple assignments.
Basic Qualifications for a level 2:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and two years of electronic assembly experience
Ability to perform tasks under microscope on very small assemblies with outstanding manual dexterity and precision.
Ability to perform tasks from written directions and drawings.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic proficiency with PowerPoint
Ability to wear basic PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), such as gloves, safety glasses, etc. as noted in process requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Basic Qualifications for a level 3:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 years of electronic assembly experience; or an Associate’s degree in an electronic or technical discipline plus 3 years of assembly or electronic experience.
Ability to perform tasks under microscope on very small assemblies with outstanding manual dexterity and precision.
Ability to perform tasks from written directions and drawings.
Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic proficiency with PowerPoint
Ability to wear basic PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), such as gloves, safety glasses, etc. as noted in process requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
2 year Technical Degree
Soldering experience at a Class 3 level
Previous or current certifications in IPC-620 and/or J-STD 001.
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $42,000.00 - $70,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $83,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
