Description
We are looking for a dedicated Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is a contract position within the healthcare sector, focusing on patient registration and coordination. The Associate Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a key part in ensuring a seamless patient experience by managing appointments, handling medical records, and addressing billing inquiries with attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule patient appointments using specialized software tools and provide clear testing instructions to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Conduct patient interviews to gather accurate demographic, insurance, and claim information while maintaining thorough and courteous communication standards.
• Verify and secure necessary authorizations, referrals, and certifications to meet medical necessity guidelines and payer regulations.
• Respond promptly to patient and departmental inquiries, ensuring resolution that meets customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the system, including obtaining required signatures and documentation for revenue cycle progression.
• Collaborate with management to identify process improvement opportunities and communicate any issues impacting task completion.
• Uphold a positive customer experience by assessing patient needs and incorporating them into decision-making processes.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple tasks simultaneously while managing frequent interruptions.
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and system updates, including insurance payer regulations.
• Display respect and professionalism in all interactions with patients, staff, and external partners.
Requirements • Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency in scheduling software and office functions, including documentation and record management.
• Familiarity with insurance policies, authorizations, referrals, and medical billing processes.
• Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a high-pressure environment.
• Knowledge of Medicare and other payer regulations is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated initiative and adaptability to process changes and system updates.
