Job Summary:
The Area Training Manager is responsible for overseeing training operations across multiple sites, leading a team of Regional Training Managers. This position is the regional expert and will coordinate with field management to improve training processes and provides leadership and direction for our Driver-in-Training program. This role focuses on managing and implementing training strategies and objectives to ensure the effective preparation of new Drivers-in-Training for obtaining their commercial driver's licenses (CDL). The primary responsibility is to manage and guide the training team, ensure quality in training the company’s established training program, and stay compliant with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:Lead and manage a team of Regional Training Managers, providing direction and support to ensure high-quality training delivery.Strategy Development:Develop and implement training strategies and objectives that align with the company's goals and regulatory requirements. Maintain staffing levels to meet its operational business needs.Training Oversight:Ensure the effective delivery of both classroom and behind-the-wheel training programs, stepping in to conduct training sessions as needed. Compliance and Safety:Ensure all training programs comply with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies. Liaison with local team during state and federal audits or inspections.Performance Evaluation:Monitor and evaluate the performance of Regional Training Managers and trainees, providing feedback and support for continuous improvement.Coordination with Management:Collaborate with safety team, site supervisors and other management personnel to align training programs with operational needs and safety standards.Documentation:Manage through Regional Training Manager accurate records of all training activities and certifications as required by regulatory bodies and company standards.Travel: Travel up to 30% - 50% of the time to multiple site locations to conduct site visits and ensure consistency in training delivery.Ethics: Exhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with their supervisor or manager.
