Area Trade Compliance Manager, Europe

KONE Global Trade Compliance corporate function manages trade sanctions, export control and customs compliance  matters throughout KONE. We are responsible for the global trade compliance framework, policy and requirements, and have a diverse team currently located in Finland, China, the USA, Mexico, India and Malaysia. We support the business by managing, advising and training on a broad range of trade compliance topics, such as  sanctions & export controls regulations,, customs tariffs, country of origin, and import/export requirements. We work in close cooperation with KONE's global functions, Areas, and local country units to develop the trade compliance environment and processes throughout KONE’s operations.

We are looking for an Area Trade Compliance Manager, Europe to join our team reporting to the Head of Global Trade Compliance.

We have one open position, with the option to work from either Espoo or Hyvinkää as the primary location.

In this role, you will:

Manage the global trade compliance scope of responsibilities on an Area level, covering KONE’s operations in Europe.Be responsible for the trade compliance risk assessment & mitigation, opportunity identification and related development within the AreaLead a team of trade compliance professionalsDevelop the Area according to trade compliance needs aligned with company strategy and valuesMonitor relevant regulatory developments applicable to the KONE environment and actively participate to relevant external forums incl. trade associations, chamber of commerce and government agenciesLiaise with internal parties, such as procurement, logistics, tax, finance, compliance and local business units, and external parties such as trade counsel and third party advisors

We are looking for candidates with:

Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experienceRelevant trade compliance experience preferably in a multinational manufacturing or technology environmentKnowledge of trade compliance regulatory requirementsWillingness to continuously develop own expertise in the field of trade complianceHigh motivation to work as part of a global team, make effective decisions and drive matters in a timely mannerExperience in people management, coaching and talent developmentStrong compliance mindsetExperience of independently managing cross-functional activities in a changing environmentExperience of working in an international and multicultural environment with a record of managing both internal and external stakeholdersThe ability to collect, manage and analyze data in a structured and efficient manner, and to identify key issues and root causesThe ability to summarize and present complex facts to non-specialist audiences, including senior leadershipStrong communication, influence & collaboration skillsAvailability and willingness to travel internationally when necessaryFluent written and spoken English
