PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Mgr, Sales – Crop Nutrients, contributes to the sales process of crop nutrients to targeted customers by maintaining contact with the customer’s designated purchasing or procurement personnel. Supports the communication of market information, prices, and available programs offered by GROWMARK and its various manufacturers/providers.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supports the implementation of Crop Nutrients Division strategies and programs by relaying customer supply plans and intentions to the marketing team as directed.

 

Assists in the marketing strategies and identifying potential business opportunities to support market penetration efforts for both member cooperatives and non-member accounts.

 

Gathers and relays insights on major competitors in the marketplace to Crop Nutrients Division personnel. Participates in the preparation of sales strategies designed to address competitive pressures.

 

Helps facilitate customer orders for division products and programs within the assigned area, in collaboration with relevant teams.

 

Contributes to building and maintaining product knowledge related to regional agronomy marketers in the assigned area and supports product acquisition efforts upon customer request.

 

Participates in discussions related to Crop Nutrients Division objectives, goals, and operating policies.

 

Shares customer feedback and market intelligence with sales and marketing staff to inform broader strategies.

 

Assists in identifying and reporting customer concerns related to products and services. Works with appropriate personnel to help address and resolve issues in a timely and equitable manner.

 

Is responsible for executing the company’s credit policy, follows credit limits, and performs collections on past-due accounts.  Obtains credit information from customers as required and works directly with the Treasurers Division.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, ag economics, ag business, marketing, or other business-related discipline. Agronomy marketing experience is preferred.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. 

 

Must have the ability to work extended hours as needed.

 

Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
