What does a successful Area Sales Manager, Clover UK Field Sales do?


As an Area Sales Manager within the Clover UK Field Sales team, you will lead a high-performing group of Business Consultants focused on driving revenue growth through the acquisition of quality switcher merchants. Your leadership will empower consultants to act as trusted advisors—solving for merchant pain points and positioning Clover as a strategic solution for business growth.

What you will do:

Lead a team of field-based Business Consultants focused on acquiring merchants with annual card turnover between £75k and £5m.

Coach and motivate the team to consistently meet and exceed sales targets through proactive lead generation and value-based selling.

Build and maintain high-level relationships with key stakeholders, senior management, and business owners to support sales efforts and merchant success.

Guide consultants in identifying cross-sell opportunities and expanding merchant portfolios through strategic solution selling.

Lead commercial negotiations at senior levels, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for Clover and the merchant.

What you will need to have:

Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in card acquiring sales.

Experience managing field-based teams.

Ability to make sound commercial decisions that drive medium- and long-term revenue growth.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency in using sales tools, CRM systems, and applications such as Excel for reporting and analysis.

What would be great to have:

Experience in identifying performance trends and addressing underperformance.

Background in supporting internal negotiations with stakeholders to develop bespoke solutions.

Competence in technology and digital fluency.

Existing personal networks for self-generating new business opportunities.

Ability to foster strong internal relationships across Fiserv to facilitate smooth merchant onboarding and issue resolution.
