Area Sales Manager

Responsible for managing and leading the sales team while ensuring collaboration with the Field Marketing Team to drive sales volume and market share in the assigned area. The role emphasizes achieving key sales targets, establishing and sustaining strong business fundamentals, and ensuring excellent field execution in terms of product availability, distribution, quality, and visibility in line with the regional strategy and action plan.

As the Area Sales Manager (Southern Thailand post) in Thailand, you will be responsible for: 

1. Sales Volume & Key Efficiencies

Manage and monitor the sales team to achieve sales volume targets and key efficiency metrics to support continuous business growth.

Analyze results and sales effectiveness, identifying performance gaps, and providing actionable solutions to the team.

2. Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain a strong partnership with distributor owners, including managing and approving distributor budgets.

Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams such as RTM, Commercial Development, P&C, Field Marketing, and Brand Teams to align sales requirements with company expectations.

3. Execution Excellence

Ensure timely and effective execution of sales activities such as trade programs, new product launches, trade engagement initiatives, and POSM (Point of Sale Materials) expansion.

Conduct regular team meetings (monthly/weekly/daily) to review performance, provide direction, and identify opportunities and solutions to meet company targets and priorities.

4. People Development

Coordinate with Training & Development (T&D) to provide necessary training tools and resources to enhance the capabilities of the sales team.

5. Market Insight

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers through regular visits to gather market insights.

Share relevant market insights with the line manager, enabling timely responses to competitive challenges.

 

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years experience (at least 3 years supervisor level) FMCG background is preferrable

Proven experience in a sales leadership role, preferably within FMCG or a similar industry.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify and address gaps in performance.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively across functions and build strong business partnerships.

Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.

Fluent in Thai and English, both written and spoken.

Willingness to travel within the assigned area as required.
